Our History

Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School, Sharjah (previously known as Pakistan Muslim High School) was established by Mr. Akhtar Mahmood Kiyani in September 1974, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al-Qasmi, the ruler of Sharjah and member of the Supreme Council of U.A.E. Initially the classes began with around 150 students at the Old Al-Qasimiah Camp. The original Board of Governors was under the chairmanship of Dr. Ghulam Hussain Jaffer while Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi served as secretary to the Board.
The present campus was built on the plot of land donated by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Al-Qasmi, member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, in March 1977. A new Board of Governors was constituted under the chairmanship of Mr.Abdul Rehman Bukhatir. The school was upgraded to Higher Secondary level. Group Captain Sulaiman Kiyani (late) was appointed as the new Principal. In 1978 the responsibility of the institute was assigned to Mr. Saeed-Ur-Rehman who rendered his services for longest tenure, i.e.1978 – 1988.
3 In 1990 the school was put under the administrative control of the Consulate General of Pakistan. His Excellency Aftab Hussain Syed took charge of the school as Chairman of the newly Constituted Board of Governors. The school took quantum leaps in its progress under the new management. The strength of students increased considerably. At present Mr. Syed Najaf Ali Shah is the Principal of Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School, Sharjah.
